It’s snowing hard in Andorra at last after a very sunny and warm February
The snow arrived a couple of days ago putting down about 20 cm yesterday to complement the overnight fall on Sunday evening.
Over the weekend Grau Roig and Pas De la Casa saw some light snow fall – the precursor to this white week in all the resorts of Grandvalira. In Soldeu, where Ski Chalet Andorra is based, the snow is firmly settling in the village and along lower areas like the Incles Valley. So higher up on the pistes it bodes well for very white March indeed. Temperatures are dropping this week to allay fears of wet heavy snow which kicked off this snow flurry.
Between today and Friday an estimate near 60 cm is due to come down with more next week.
Skiers have been furiously waxing up their off piste skis and some have already veered off to enjoy the first glimpses of powder since January.
As the resort already had a good base it means skiing in March is now a must. If you want a short break away give us a call or message as we have some accommodation available. We hope to see you here in Soldeu soon.
